Bribie Island Multisport April 26th 2009
What a hell of an event!
The Adventure Team Peregian competed in a spectacular, grueling 100km adventure race set amongst Australia’s iconic Glass House Mountains at Bribie Island over the weekend.
The 100km race was never intented to be a breeze, unquestionably it tested the competitors' minds and physical fitness. The Bribie Island 100km Multisport Event consisted of two ocean swims, three runs, two paddles and two mountain bike rides.
Packed with sweat, salt and mud the day was definitely full of fun and excitement. The Peregian Adventure Teams competitors consisted of 2 solo competitors; Dmitri Simons and Simon Richardson and five teams, who all put in a phenomenal effort in order to complete the 100km event.
The text above is being featured in the Noosa Journal, put together by our wonderful Sonia Goreta.
We are hosting images of Simon's work colleagues that he talked into racing, they are the Chancellor Prancing Ponies and they managed to beat all of the ATP teams, though Dmitri spanked those ponies...
Special mention to Rob Honan for the extra kilometres he chose to ride through Bribie forest, rather than follow the ordinary human's route. Also a mention to Andrew for losing his ski off the roof of his car, flying down the Bruce Highway and still managing to race with it patched up with duct tape.
Our champion, Dmitri, let the winners get away after opting for some extra swim legs in the middle of the ski paddle. Not a bad time considering he had a bad cold like myself. Next year we know he will smash them all!
