This sounds really complex but its not too bad and there is heaps of time. The quickest leg is the 20k bike up to Wildhorse mountain, make sure SD gets there before the biker!

Bribie Island Multisport Race Logistics

Here is my advice on how to organise yourselves for the Bribie race. This is based on a solo racer with one support driver (SD) in a support vehicle (SUV), teams can work out what they will have to do from this:

- Arrive at Brennan Park, Bongaree for 5.45am registration with Race Waiver signed by everyone racing, collect T shirts and state who is doing each leg. Rego closes at 6am.

- Drop ski at ski transition area next to rego area.

- Get into car and take first swimmer and runner to Surf Club start.

- If running in trainers on first leg, drop trainers at first transition area.

- Swimmer starts at 7am, down the beach

- Swimmer exits water, maybe puts shoes on, keeps goggles around neck and runs 8k beach leg

- SD drives to 2nd transition area and dumps PFD, Paddle, gloves, camelback, hat and sunnies on Ski

- Runner gets to 2nd swim, maybe dumps trainers and swims 800m leg. Swimmer exits and throws goggles to SD. They then get into PFD etc and paddle up the passage. SD gets into SUV and drives with mountain bikes to Donnybrook.

- SD arrives at Donnybrook and puts bike into transition area along with helmet and bike shoes etc.

- Paddler arrives and is assisted by SD with carrying of ski to transition area (very muddy)

- Racer ditches PFD, Paddle and old Camelback, picks up new camelback MTB shoes and helmet, then gets cycling.

- SD packs PFD, Paddle, old camelback etc into SUV quickly. Ski can be left in transition area if to be used on second ski leg. (leave kit near the timing marshall). SD drives promptly out to Bruce Highway and North to Wildhorse Mountain carpark.

- SD lays our running shoes, towel and waterbottle in transition area in carpark.

- Cyclist arrives, dumps bike, helmet and 2nd camelback in transition next to SD, changes shoes, picks up water bottle ( no real water provided on this course ) and gets running.

- SD stays with bike and refills camelback if needed.

- Runner arrives, dumps trainers and water bottle, puts on cycle shoes, helmet and fresh camelback, then gets cycling. SD packs trainers etc into SUV and drives back to Donnybrook.

- SD arrives at Donnybrook and lays out PFD, Paddle and fresh water bottle.

- Cyclist arrives, dumps bike, helmet, MTB shoes, socks and old camelback. Then puts PFD and kit on, grabs paddle and is assisted with ski down to water by SD. Paddler gets going.

- SD racks Mountain Bike bike onto SUV and packs helmets, shoes, socks etc into car. Then drives to 8th transition area on Bribie Island (upstream of the previous ski transition area).

- SD arrives at Ski transition area, sets out trainers and fresh water bottle.

- Paddler arrives, assisted with carry of ski to transition area by SD. Dump paddle, PFD, Gloves, camelback etc. Put on trainers, pick up water bottel and get running.

- SD can either try to rack ski onto SUV roof really quickly or leave it in transition. Pack paddle, PFD etc into SUV and drive to finish line at Bongaree (where Rego was).

- SD tries to take photo of runner across the line! SD and racer may need to get into SUV and go back to get the ski out of transition and onto roof. THEĀ END!
