Well done to all our members for a great turn out and a massive - Chinese style medal haul!

Tre-X Off-Road Triathlon October 26th 2008

We came…we saw…we conquered!!

What a fantastic effort by all team members in Race 1 of the Tre-X Offroad Triathlon series, returning with an impressive haul of medals. The Kurwongbah course was a real eye opener for those first time offroad competitors, with plenty of surprises (tree roots, rocks, sticks, barbed wire fences) around every corner.

After a chilly 350m swim around the dam course, it was through transition onto 10km of hilly and very technical mountain biking. As if this wasn’t enough, the final challenge was an up and down 4km run course.

The medal presentations were fantastic, but special mentions must also be made as follows:

Simon – proving that a whole lot of training actually works

Georgie – for encouraging the team to accept ‘Suck it in’ as an official chant

Brett – proving that having a beard makes you run faster

Liz – enjoying the race so much she ran an extra leg on the run course

Will – eating more food after the race than any human should be able to do

Neil – getting in the bus in the morning and asking ‘Now, where are we going?’

Heidi – for providing the best finish line performance ever

Michael – swim, swear, bike, swear, run, swear, finish, collapse

Susan – for joining our team on the day…join us, join us

Everyone is looking forward to the next race in the Tre-X series. Let’s see if we can continue the medal winning way! - Commentary by Mike Woodruff

Make sure you get your entries in for the next race on November 30th at Mt Cotton - register online HERE
